Music Makers Around the World (5-6 years as of September, 2021)
This year long multicultural class cultivates the child's musical development through singing, movement, dancing, story telling, playing instruments, ensemble work, ear training and listening.
Music literacy continues using more advanced patterns and song sheets.
We suggest the following article for parents considering music education for their child:
What's the Right Age to Begin Music Lessons?
Semester 1- British Isles & Amerindian
Mondays, 5:20-6:00 p.m.
Parent Orientation August 29th at 4:00 p.m.
Sept. 13th - Jan. 3rd (no classes Nov. 22, Dec. 20, 27)
Tuition & Materials- $310 (includes registration fee, Parent Orientation, 14 lessons, 2 packets with CDs, flashcards & song sheets)
Semester 2- African-American
Mondays, 5:20-6:00 p.m.
Jan. 10- May 9 (no classes Jan. 17, Feb. 28, Apr. 18)
Tuition & Materials- $310 (includes 15 lessons, 1 packet, CD and flashcards and song sheets)
Covid Protocols: *Our policies may change in September due to the Delta Variant
Our students and families safety during the Covid 19 Pandemic is of the utmost importance to us. We are carefully following the CDC, City of New Orleans and State of Louisiana recommendations. We will adjust accordingly to these recommendations to insure everyone's safety. Here are the protocols we currently have in place for our classes.
1) Classes will be held outside (unless inclement weather, see below) and yoga mats will be placed at a safe distance from each other. We will plan our lessons to help children and families to stay distanced from each other.
2) Un-Vaccinated adults and children are asked to wear masks at all times.
3) Vaccinated adults are also encouraged to wear a mask due to the Delta variant.
4) Instruments will be cleaned between classes and bleach wipes and hand sanitizer will be available if needed.
Inclement Weather Plan:
If we are unable to conduct our classes outside due to inclement weather we will move our lessons into our 600 square ft. classroom. We will open all windows and doors and will place yoga mats apart at a safe distance. Unvaccinated adults will be required to wear a mask and children that are able or willing to wear a mask while inside are strongly encouraged to do so. If anyone is uncomfortable with attending an inside class we are happy to provide at home videos for this missed lesson. Please let Ms. Carla know if you prefer to have a digital lesson sent home.
